We Can't Do This Without Your Help!
My Mom was brave!
My Mom was a fighter!
My Mom Lesley will always be...
In April, 2011, after months of visits to doctors and numerous tests, my mom, Lesley Jacqueline Roth Meckler, was diagnosed with a Grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme. What's that you might ask? Well, in laymen's terms, it's Brain Cancer. Sadly, Mom passed away April 15th, 2012, three weeks to the day after the 3rd annual walk. We believe that the fundraising and preparations we did for the FBC5k helped keep Mom here with us a little bit longer! Thank you ABC2!
This year, on Sunday, February 26, 2017, friends, family, and corporate sponsors will once again join together in fundraising and participating in the 2017 8th Annual Florida Brain Cancer 5k! The money we raise will benefit Florida-based Brain Cancer Research through Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure, (ABC2) and move us one step closer to finding a cure!
Our team, "Walking for the Warlord" will be walking in memory of Les. We walk in her memory and to honor her brave fight against cancer! We miss you Momma...everyday.
As Jules Michelet once said, Obstacles are great incentives.
Currently there is no cure for Brain Cancer, but the researchers are working very hard to find one. That is why we have promised to raise whatever funds we can for their efforts. But we can't do this unaided. We need your help!
Please consider joining our team and walking with us on February 26th! If you can come and walk with us, click the "Join" button, under Mom's picture and join our team!
If you would rather sleep in that morning, and can't make the walk, you can support our efforts with a donation. It would be greatly appreciated. Just click on the "Donate" button on the right side of the page, under Mom's photo.
On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for your support!
