I'm participating in the Florida Brain Cancer 5K!
This is me and my son, Ethan. This is one of my favorite memories of him. This was one of the last times that he was able to dance with me, shortly before his death in July 2014. Ethan was diagnosed with Anaplastic Astrocytoma Grade III (brain cancer) when he was 10 and after fighting against all odds for 28 months, he succumbed to his cancer.
We spent his 5th grade graduation in ICU after learning that he had hydrocephalus (fluid on his brain) caused by an inoperable malignant tumor that we had no idea even existed. Ethan should be in his senior year of high school now but sadly, all I have of him are pictures and memories. I’m running on behalf of my Ethan to help raise funds for brain cancer research.
Could you please take a minute to click the link to donate to help find a cure for this horrible disease?
I run this every year, in honor of my Ethan. I do this so that someday, families won’t know what it is to watch their loved ones battle this ugly disease or have to know the pain of watching this monster steal away aother victim.
Our future depends on what we do today. Our families need us more than ever.
