This is something I don't always like to talk about and it's not something that many people know about me but here it is...
This past June, I was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. They found it after weeks of increasingly painful headaches I finally caved and decided to go to the ER...never expecting them to come in and tell me that they saw "something" on my CT scan. After being admitted and several more MRI's they came up with the diagnosis...and it's not something you ever want to hear in your life...but especially not being a 30 year old mother of 3 small children...It was a tumor...and they were pretty sure by it's characteristics that it was the dreaded "C" word. Long story short, I had brain surgery 3 days later to have a 7cmx7cm tumor removed from my frontal lobe in my brain. They only were able to remove appx 90%. Sounds like a lot but obviously this means there is still 10% left in there free to grow again! Tumor biopsy came back as cancerous like they were expecting, Stage 2. So, After the surgery I endured 28 rounds of daily radiation treatments (M-F) and chemotherapy. I lost alot of my hair so if you ever saw me wearing a scarf and it was 90 degrees out now you know why! Now they say my MRI's look good and there has been no growth! I'm praying it stays that way for a LONG time! No one knows how much time they have left and that definitely goes without saying for me so that's why I'm walking for a cure! I hope you can join me in walking but if you can't any donation will go towards an amazing cause...which touches so close to home for me and my family!!
Thanks in advance for your support! Together, we are walking and running to cure brain cancer!
