Capt. Jack Strenges
Welcome to the Capt. Jack Strenges fundraising page. Many know my brother Jack as a member of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept. where he proudly served for 30 years. Jack loved working for the PBSO because he genuinely cared about people and he wanted to help make a difference. He began his career with the PBSO as a Sheriff's Deputy and went on to achieve the rank of Captain of the Violent Crimes Division until finally retiring in August 2011.
Sadly just six months after retiring Jack was diagnosed with the most deadliest form of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma. During the next two years Jack would go thru several brain surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and experimental treatments. Jack was determined to beat this disease. He never gave up fighting and was incredibly brave. Unfortunately Jack lost his battle on February 21, 2014 with his family and friends by his side. He is loved and deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
To his family Jack was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and uncle. Because Jack's life was cut short he never got to attend his son's wedding or see the birth of his beautiful granddaughter Bella.
In memory of my brother Jack Strenges and for all those who are still fighting this disease I am asking you to join his team and walk with us on February 26th for this very important cause.
