Team Northwestern Mutual has been involved with the brain cancer walk from Day 1. Our collegue and close friend, Ruth Ross was diagnosed with brain cancer January 2007 and sadly passed away before she could participate in the first annual Seattle Brain Cancer Walk in June 2008. We continue to walk in honor of her as she was the inspiration behind the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk.

We are also supporting John Barrows. John is a member of the Northwestern Mutual family. John is married to Katie and has 4 children (KK, Joe, Grace and Tommy).  John was diagnosed with brain cancer on 11/13/08. John is beating the odds and hopes to be the beneficiary of a vaccine that is being developed by the Brain Cancer Institute in Seattle  A portion of the Funds raised from the walk will go directly to support the efforts to develop his vaccine.

The Walk helps support innovative research initiatives and support services for brain cancer patients and their families in the Pacific Northwest. This amazing event relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of individuals, families, teams, volunteers, sponsors and donors.
