Capt. Jack Strenges
Welcome back to the Capt. Jack Strenges fundraising page for the 2019 Florida Brain Cancer 5K. Last year we had an outstanding turnout and raise alot of money to cure this terrible disease thanks to Jack's colleagues and friends at the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Dept. We hope to have another outstanding turnout this year!
Jack served for 30 years as member of the PBSO beginning his career in 1981 as a Sheriff's Deputy and going on to the rank of Captain of the Violent Crimes Division. I know how much Jack loved his job and how proud he was to be a part of the PBSO family. Jack retired in August 2011 but tragically just six months later he was diagnosed with the most deadliest form of brain cancer known as Glioblastoma.
During the next two years Jack would go thru several brain surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and experimental treatments. Jack was determined to beat this disease and he never gave up fighting. Unfortunately Jack lost his battle on February 21, 2014 with his family and friends by his side. He is loved and deeply missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
Thank you for what I hope will be your continued support and look forward to seeing you at the walk on Sunday, February 24th at John Prince Park!
